I was fortunate enough to begin working in the marketing department at CVLife from very early on in the development of The Wave Waterpark in Coventry. I designed all varieties of marketing material, helped in the concept and creation of the buildings signage (Both physical & digital) and produced a variety of motion and video advertisements.
This brings me on to one of the projects I am most proud of, the creation of a 30 second promotional video for the purposes of advertising UK wide on SKY TV. Working together as a team, we scripted the advert initially (Both the voiceover & footage required) before I then went onto storyboard and produce the video. The process was:
- We sent the initial script for clearing
- I then arranged days to film (We used coloured wrist bands for consent)
- I captured new footage using a range of equipment (DSLR & mobile on gimbal & GoPro on body harness & gimbal) across multiple days
- I edited a first draft of the video and we submitted this for secondary clearing for TV, as well as reviewed as a team deciding on what footage worked best and which we could improve on
- The initial draft of the video was also passed onto our voiceover artist to use as a basis for their tone and pace when recording the voiceover
- After reviewing feedback from all parties, I then went onto edit the near final version of the video which included both the voiceover, edited clips, on screen animations and new end card
- This was again reviewed as a team before being submitted for the next stage of the clearing process. It was at this point we needed to add in a required disclaimer (supers) and required hold at the beginning (Clock number & info) and end of the video
- Shortly after this we received final approval and the video was being broadcast on SKY TV a few days later
As a team we achieved what we set out to do in a short time in order to achieve a target of having the advert running over the 2021 summer period. This was integral to the waterpark selling out for the majority of the summer and from this I then went on to create a number of variations, including a 15 second video for Google ads.
